AFTER THE CONSULTATION

How do I take my Remedies?
For pills & tablets you don’t need to swallow them - pills are sucked, tablets sucked or chewed. Drops are put in a little water and this can be held in the mouth for a few moments before swallowing.
Your remedies will come with instructions on when, how, and how often to take them.

How quickly can I expect to see Results?
This very much depends on each individual case - factors such as the depth of pathology or toxicity may play a part in determining this, as also does the potency of the remedy selected for you, and the maintaining causes in your life. In some cases, results can be seen within 24 hours - in others it may be a case of gradual shifts over weeks.
I suggest booking a first consultation plus 2 follow ups as this allows time to see Results either way.

 Are there any Side-effects?
Side effects - as understood in terms of pharmaceutical drugs - are effects that are thrown up by the body’s systems as they struggle to deal with an often powerful material substance that has been introduced with the aim of positively affecting one particular part or system. In Homeopathy we are not introducing material substances into the body so there are no side-effects in this way.

Could I become dependent on my Remedies?
Again, as there is no active material substance in them, it is not possible to become physically dependent on them.

 Are there any extra costs?
No. Remedies are included, as is Case Management and Interim Telephone Support. The only extra costs that may pop up is if you would like to engage in other systems of healing alongside your Homeopathic Treatment. For example, should you wish to follow a nutritional program or a biochemic tissue salt program, you would need to procure your own tissue salts or supplements.

What is meant by Interim Telephone Support?
Sometimes, during the interval between consultations, something new may come up for you - a new symptom or something happening in your life - or you may have a query about your remedies or treatment. I would like you to feel supported in this time so I offer the possibility of free conversations via telephone or e-mail. If you do need some support, leave me a message by phone, text or e-mail and I will get back to you as soon as I can. This is usually within 48 hrs. Each patient has up to 3 calls of up to 10 mins available for free if you should need it. Many people do not need this and that is fine - but it is there if you do need it.

Do I have to give up things like Tea and Coffee?
Not on my account! There is a wide belief that things with strong resonances - such as Coffee or Mint Toothpaste - can antidote Homeopathic Remedies. While I agree that it is not advisable to wash down your remedy with a strong cup of Coffee, it is usually possible to make a space for your remedy to take effect without giving up these things. The question of antidoting becomes most pertinent when you are given single doses of high potency remedies designed to have a ‘ripple out effect’ over the course of the month. In these instances, however, alternative prescribing methods can be adopted to take into account an unquenchable desire for Coffee - or Mint tea for that matter!

THE CONSULTATIONS

How regularly should I see a Homeopath?
Appointments are usually set at monthly intervals.
This interval can, however, be shortened to suit cases with particularly acute or severe pathology, or in times when regular emotional support is needed.
In between appointments interim telephone support is available if required.
Once the initial presenting complaint has been resolved many patients opt for appointments at longer intervals (perhaps 4 times a year) to maintain good health.

 How long are the Consultations?
The First Consultation is 1 and a half hours long. Follow ups are 1 hour.

What will happen in a Consultation?
In the First Consultation I will ask for information on your symptoms & your medical history. It is your opportunity to tell me your story in whatever way you want. Once I have a clear sense of your story I will match this to a Remedy or Remedies that can help you.
In Follow Ups we will check in on how your health is doing, adjust the prescription as necessary, and address any new challenges you may be facing.
A Homeopathic Consultation is different from a Consultation with a Conventional Doctor in several significant ways:
Time - you have much more of this and there is not a feeling that you will be hustled off to make room for a queue of patients.
Attention - this is on you in a holistic way - this is your time to express yourself while I listen.
Individualisation - the consultation is focussed on what is individual about you, rather than you being seen solely in terms of what dis-ease you may have.

 How much will it Cost?

What happens to the information that I share during the consultation?
All the information that you share is 100% confidential. I may need to take some notes in order to work on your case in my own time but these will be kept in secure filing. For insurance purposes I will keep your notes for 7 years in this secure manner.

How many sessions will I need to book?
I would suggest that you book a first consultation and two follow ups. This allows time to see positive results ripple out into your life. After this we can reassess and you can decide how regularly you would like appointments from then on. Many long-term patients opt to come just 4 times a year - to maintain good health once their initial complaint has been resolved.Prices.htmlshapeimage_7_link_0
About Homeopathy:

 What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a form of Energy Medicine - the pills are used as a ‘vehicle’ to carry the resonance of a substance. When the pill, tablet or liquid makes contact with the mouth that resonance is transmitted to the patient’s energy body and acts as a prompt for the patient’s own body to make the adjustments it needs to in order to get back to health.

 What is in the Remedies?
Because it is the energy of a thing that is used in Homeopathy, rather than the thing itself, the remedies can be sourced from all sorts of substances - including those that would be poisonous if taken in material form. The pills that act as a ‘vehicle’ for this energy are made from sugar; Tablets from sac-lac (milk sugar). If liquids are used as a vehicle this is usually a mixture of water & brandy. As part of your consultation we can discuss the most suitable vehicle for you.

Do I need to believe in Homeopathy for it to work?
No. This can be clearly seen by how effectively Homeopathy works for babies & animals - neither of whom will be holding pre-existing beliefs to influence the treatment.
That said, belief in your own potential to heal can be a powerful thing in itself and, vice versa, if you don’t believe you can ever get better this can limit your body’s healing mechanisms. The power of belief can be seen in many healing traditions - from tribal shamanism, to the astonishingly effective placebo effect of conventional medical research.

 Are there any adverse effects?
Side effects - as understood in terms of pharmaceutical drugs - are effects that are thrown up by the body’s systems as they struggle to deal with an often powerful material substance that has been introduced with the aim of positively affecting one particular part or system. In Homeopathy we are not introducing material substances into the body so there are no side-effects in this way.
A Homeopathic remedy is given with the intention of prompting the body to regain balance throughout the whole system. With this in mind, there can sometimes be parts of the body’s response that can seem undesirable. A good example of this is the body getting rid of toxins - via the bowels or the skin. While this may seem undesirable in the moment, it shouldn’t last more than 48 hours and it is in the long term interests of the body’s health.
The body, however, is an intelligent thing and such responses are not common. In my practice I work to minimise aggravations of this sort through clear intent in selecting remedies and thorough Case Management.

Can I use Homeopathy alongside Conventional Medicine?
Yes you can, and indeed there are many instances where this is not only necessary, but desirable.

Are there other Alternative Medicines that work well with Homeopathy?
Yes! I do not know of any that don’t. Complementary therapies that work particularly well alongside Homeopathy include: Cranio-sacral Therapy; Acupuncture; Herbal Medicine; Shiatsu; Bowen technique; Metamorphic technique; Shamanic techniques; and Reiki. The clinics at Angel Islington, N1 and Highbury / Holloway, N7 are both integrated centres offering a range of therapies - referrals can be made if you wish.

What can be treated with Homeopathy?
Because Homeopathy is holistic - treating each person on all levels: Mind, Body, Emotions & Context - it can be used for ailments on all levels. There is nothing that can’t be helped by Homeopathy.
That said, there are certain things which respond particularly well to Homeopathy - these are often the chronic complaints that conventional medicine struggles with, such as: IBS; Excema; Asthma; Tinnitus; Stress & Anxiety; Allergies; Menstrual Irregularities; Skin Problems; Warts etc.
It is also particularly good at addressing problems that have strong mental or emotional aspects to them - like Stress, Depression or Insomnia.
But there is really no limit - Homeopathy can be very effective when used in deeper pathologies such as HIV, Cancer or MS for example. And, as mentioned previously, Homeopathy can be used alongside conventional medicine and even to help with the effects of treatments such as radiotherapy or chemotherapy.
If you are wondering if Homeopathy can help you in any way, please do not hesitate to make contact and ask!

Is it safe to use Homeopathy during Pregnancy?
It is not only safe but very advisable - both for the health of Mother and Baby during Pregnancy and to prepare for the Baby’s good health in future. Because you are not taking in a material substance when you take a Homeopathic Remedy there is no fear of that material substance crossing through to the Baby. The energetic resonance can, however, prompt health in both the Mother and Baby.
There are many standard remedies that can help the common complaints of Pregnancy and Birth - and I would particularly suggest that Mums-to-be follow the “New Era Biochemic Tissue Salt Programme” as standard preparation (any good health shop should be able to tell you about this or contact me for details). For acute or emergency situations, however, it is always important to consult a healthcare professional.http://www.studio10islington.co.ukhttp://www.northlondonbuddhistcentre.com/bodymind.htmContact.htmlContact.htmlshapeimage_8_link_0shapeimage_8_link_1shapeimage_8_link_2shapeimage_8_link_3
